JACKMAN — A late-night fire destroyed a one-story residence Sunday on 11 Forest Street, according to Mike Smith, deputy chief of the Jackman/Moose River Fire Department.

Smith said that the owners were not home, and that he did not know their identity. The fire was reported at 11:27 p.m., and firefighters did not clear the scene until nearly 3 a.m. Monday.

Smith said he did not know the cause of the fire.

The home was fully involved with fire when crews arrived, Smith said.
