AUGUSTA — The soft pretzel store that opened on Northern Avenue at the first of the year has closed.

Owner Laura Fuchswanz of Augusta said business died off in recent weeks. It had opened to a flurry of customers who waiting in line for soft pretzels and Philly-style hoagies.

“We may reopen in the future,” Fuchswanz said on Monday. “Our customers are really sad.”

Fuchswanz said she has kept all the equipment and could open elsewhere.

“If we did it again, we’d do it in more of a mall with foot traffic,” Fuchswanz said.
