MONMOUTH: Police investigate vandalized mailboxes

By Kennebec Journal Staff report March 28, 2008 02:56 PM

MONMOUTH — Monmouth police need help finding the people who vandalized 30 mailboxes.

Between 9 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday morning, someone smashed the mailboxes on Back Street and Wilson Pond Road.

Monmouth Police Officer Evan Franklin said he is not sure how they were damaged, but it is under investigation.

“Some were hanging, some were ripped off and some were 10 feet from where they should have been,” Franklin said. “I don’t know how they did it.”

Anyone with information should call the Monmouth Police Department at 933-9089.
