The University of Maine at Farmington has hired coaches for both its men's and women's lacrosse and soccer teams.
Molly Wilkie has been named the head women's soccer and lacrosse coach, while Christopher Parsons has been named the head men's soccer and lacrosse coach. Both are scheduled to start their positions on Aug. 20.
Wilkie is a former women's soccer player at UMF and graduated from the school in 2005 with a degree in psychology. She has spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach with the Beavers. She replace Bob Leib, who is retiring from coaching after 31 years.
The women's soccer team went 14-5-2 last season, while the lacrosse team is scheduled to become a varsity sport in 2009.
Parsons has more than five years of college head coaching experience in men's soccer at the NAIA and NCAA Div. III levels. He was an assistant coach for the University of Maine last fall.
The men's soccer team went 6-5-6 last season and reached the North Atlantic Conference semifinals. Men's lacrosse is scheduled to become a varsity sport in 2010.
