READFIELD — The School Union 42 Board of Directors meets Tuesday for a vote on the central office administration and special education budgets for the Maranacook Area Schools.
The proposed budget cuts costs nearly 12 percent, down to $496,000 from this school year’s $563,000 budget.
Of the six schools in the district, Wayne Elementary School will see the steepest drop-off — a 19.8 percent cut from this year’s $33,173 budget, to a proposed budget of $26,605.
Union 42 includes schools in Manchester, Mount Vernon, Readfield and Wayne.
The Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Maranacook Community High School student center.
