Mailboxes trashed in Monmouth

By Kennebec Journal Staff report March 28, 2008 08:33 PM

MONMOUTH — Monmouth police are attempting to track down those responsible for vandalizing 30 mailboxes on Back Street and Wilson Pond Road.

The vandalism occurred between 9 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday.

Monmouth police officer Evan Franklin said he is not sure how exactly the damage was done, but the incident is under investigation.

“Some were hanging, some were ripped off and some were 10 feet from where they should have been,” Franklin said. “I don’t know how they did it.”

Anyone with information should call the Monmouth Police Department at 933-9089.
