AUGUSTA — The Maine State Beekeepers Association will hold its annual meeting on Saturday at the Calumet Club on West River Road in Augusta.
The program will feature Dr. Thomas Seeley, professor of Biology and chairman of the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior, at Cornell University and David VanderDussen, CEO, NOD Apiary Products of Frankfort, Ontario.
Dr Seeley will give two presentations: one on bee biology, titled: “House Hunting by Honey Bees, A Study of Effective Group Decision Making” and a second on beekeeping: “Forrest Bees and Varroa Mites."
David VanderDussen will also give two presentations: one about “IPM Mite Control with Mite-AwayII” and a second, “Trends in Beekeeping.”
The program fee is $30 that includes a buffet luncheon and morning refreshments.
