The 21-year-old college dropout who police said admitted to stabbing to death his three familiy members in their Old Orchard Beach home in February was indicted Wednesday on three counts of murder and one count of arson by a York County Superior grand jury.

Police have said Matthew Cushing admitted to killing his mother and stepfather, Carol and Chris Bolduc, both 42, and his step-brother, 15-year-old Joshua Bolduc. Cushing also admitted to setting fire to the family's house at 15 Birkdale Circle where the bodies were found, according to police.

Cushing, who had no criminal record, told police he was angry at his parents for not funding a backpacking trip to Europe he wanted to take.
