WATERVILLE - The third annual Downtown Waterville Farmers Market will open May 1 in The Concourse parking lot downtown and will carry fresh produce, dairy products, meats, baked goods, seedlings and other items.

The market, sponsored by the Waterville Main Street Program and MaineGeneral Health, is open 2-6 p.m. on Thursdays from May through October, according to Shannon Haines, Waterville Main Street's executive director.

Haines said a winter farmers market has been held 2-4 p.m. every third Thursday throughout the winter season and the last one will be on April 17. That market carries meats, eggs, cheese, bread and other items, she said.
