WINDHAM — Four teenagers face juvenile charges of criminal use of explosives after trying to buy household cleaners that could make an explosive substance when combined, police said.
Police were called to Hannaford Bros. in Windham at 8:30 p.m. Friday night when a supermarket associate became suspicious about the materials the four were buying.
Police said the 15-year-olds had planned to make explosive devices by mixing the substances in condoms they were trying to buy.
The group will be issued a summons to appear in court and will meet with the Cumberland County district attorney to determine what charges they might ultimately face.
