The public is invited to share thoughts about the future of Highland Lake Park and Shorey Park at a forum tonight.
The town’s Highland Lake Committee will hold an informational and public
hearing at 6 p.m. in the Selectboard’s meeting room.
The committee is seeking public input on how the parks should be used,
especially in light of the creation of Pondicherry Park in the downtown area
by Lakes Environmental Association and Loon Echo Land Trust.
The issues to be considered include the possible relocation of the band
shell used and how the three parks can best complement each other.
The public input will help create a long-term proposal for the parks, which
could be written up over the summer, said Town Manager Mitchell Berkowitz.
