AUGUSTA — The Maine Philosophical Institute has opted to hold its annual meeting at the University of Maine at Augusta.
The group, which includes philosophy educators from across Maine, meets Saturday from 9:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. in UMA’s Student Technology Center.
Institute members will ponder Plato and East Asian Buddhism, the concepts of virtue and vice and a reconceptualization of Immanuel Kant’s Space/Time Aesthetic during their Saturday meetings.
UMA Philosophy Professor Greg Fahy is currently the group’s secretary. This year marks the first time UMA has hosted the organization’s annual meeting.
