A Kennebunk man was killed in a motorcycle accident along Route 35 on Thursday.

Arthur Spencer, 58, was traveling on Alewive Road, heading toward Lyman, when the accident occurred about 6:35 p.m., according to the Kennebunk Police Department. He was pronounced dead while being transported to the hospital.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Speed does not appear to be a factor, said Kennebunk Police Chief Robert MacKenzie.

Spencer was not wearing a helmet, police said.
