WATERVILLE — Police arrested a Waterville man Monday night on a charge of violating the conditions of his release by being in possession of a Sai, a sword-type tool and weapon used in martial arts training.

Jason H. Hight, 22, first was interviewed at about 10:30 p.m. by police during a routine pedestrian check on the Ticonic Bridge connecting Waterville and Winslow, Sgt. Michael Benecke said.

Hight was arrested on Silver Street on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and with violating the conditions of release by also being in the company of a person with whom he was not allowed contact.

The martial arts weapon was found during a police search of Hight.

He was taken to the county jail in Augusta and his bail was revoked, Benecke said.
