Woolwich officials are encouraging residents to familiarize themselves with the town's annual report before attending the May 7 annual town meeting.
Town Clerk Jeanne Bernard said the reports are available at the town office. In an effort to reduce costs, the town chose this year not to mail reports to individual residents.
Bernard said town heating fuel and gasoline prices have soared and electricity bills are at an all-time high.
"The New England town meeting is probably the purest form of democracy in existence today. Please help to preserve it by attending town meeting. Please read your town report carefully and bring it with you," Bernard said.
The meeting will be held Wednesday night at 6 in the Woolwich Central School on Nequasset Road.
