FARMINGTON - A comprehensive tax reform bill is likely to resurface in the Legislature in 2008 and on Friday, the public is invited to enjoy a free breakfast and listen to a preview.
The next Western Maine Legislative Caucus will meet from 7 to 9 a.m. on Friday, Nay 16 at the University of Maine at Farmington's North Dining Hall to talk about, "Taxes and Maine…Getting to Reform." It is free and open to the public.
State Rep. John Piotti, chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Taxation, Sen. Peter Mills, R-Cornville and Dana Connors, president of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce have been invited. Registration is not required.
Sponsoring organizations are Western Mountains Alliance, University of Maine at Farmington, Western Maine Community Action, School Administrative District 9, Mission at the Eastward, Franklin Community Health Network and Greater Franklin Development Corporation.
