Hallowell attorney to receive Legion of Honor award

AUGUSTA — Hallowell attorney Severin Beliveau is slated to receive the Legion of Honor award on Tuesday in a Statehouse ceremony.

Pierre Vimont, the French ambassador, and Francois Gauthier, the French Consul General, will present the award.

Beliveau, an Honorary French Consul for Maine, is a founding member and senior partner of the law firm Preti Flaherty. He oversees the firm’s legislative and regulatory practices in Augusta and Washington, D.C.

Fluent in French, Beliveau is the president of the American association of the Forum Francophone des Affaires, the United States chapter of an international organization of 36 French-speaking nations.

Beliveau lives in Hallowell.
