WESTBROOK — Police conducted a special underage drinking enforcement over the weekend that coincided with Westbrook High School's junior prom.

Police on Saturday arrested 33-year-old David Ojiem of Westbrook for allegedly furnishing drugs and liquor to a minor. Two teens, who were not attending prom, had a car containing alcohol in the school parking lot, and police summonsed one for illegal transportation of alcohol by a minor and charged the other with illegal possession of alcohol by a minor.

Officers later found a party in the woods off Prospect Street and summonsed eight people for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor.

The police initiative was funded through a grant from the Maine Medical Care Development. Six officers conducted uniformed and plainclothes patrols in the city. Police say these details will continue throughout the year.
