BANGOR - A Bangor city councilor facing a forgery charge now stands accused of leaving a supermarket with a cart full of groceries he did not pay for.
Richard Greene was arrested Monday after Bangor police received a complaint from a Hannaford supermarket. The store complained that Greene failed to pay for about $100 worth of groceries.
Greene was also charged with violating conditions of bail stemming from his January arrest on a misdemeanor forgery charge. Greene has pleaded not guilty to that charge. He's still on council but has stopped participating in meetings.
