Three Maine television stations were among the winners in this year’s New England Emmy Awards, which were presented Saturday by the Boston/New England Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
The Maine stations listed among the winners on the chapter’s Web site were: Portland station WMTW (Channel 8), an ABC affiliate; Portland station WPXT (Channel 51), a CW affiliate; and the Maine Public Broadcasting Network.
WMTW won in the newscast category for coverage of the Patriots Day storm in 2007. MPBN won in the historical/cultural category and in the magazine program category for episodes of “The Maine Experience.” WPXT’s John Marshall won in the categories of promotion program, graphic arts set design and musical composition, for his work on the “Kick Start” educational awareness show.
