Fishermen will search for lobsterman

By Portland Press Herald Staff Report May 13, 2008 01:17 PM

KITTERY - Local fishermen today said they are waiting for winds to calm so they can launch a recovery effort to find a missing Kittery lobsterman believed to have drowned when his boat overturned Sunday.

The fishermen have secured a 42-foot lobster boat and a diver with which they intend to search for Chris Tobey.

Tobey, 46, was lost when his boat Sav-A-Buck overturned near Duck Island, 7 miles southeast of Portsmouth, N.H., near the Isles of Shoals.

Tobey's son, Chris Tobey, 16, and another crewman, Robert Blackburn of Sanford, 21, were also aboard and swam to safety.

The Coast Guard called off its search for the elder Tobey on Monday.
