Voters in Portland, South Portland and School Administrative District 6 approved 2008-09 school budgets today in first-time referendums required under the state’s new school consolidation law.
Portland's budget passed with 65 percent of the vote, which was 2,311-1,229.
South Portland's budget passed with 51 percent of the vote, which was 753-717.
SAD 6 residents ratified their budget with 65 percent of the vote, which was 761-413. The district includes Buxton, Frye Island, Hollis, Limington, and Standish.
