Capt. Will Fitzgerald will relieve Capt. George Womack on Thursday as commander of the Brunswick Naval Air Station.

The ceremony – the final change of command before the base closes in three years – will take place at 11 a.m.

Fitzgerald will have the distinction of being the Navy station's last commander. It is scheduled to close on Sept. 15, 2011.

Rear Admiral Kenneth Deutsch, Director of Warfare Integration for the Navy and a former Wing commander at Brunswick, will be the guest speaker.

Navy and community leaders, military personnel, friends and supporters have been invited.
