SKOWHEGAN — Firefighters battled brush fires Wednesday in Fairfield, Pittsfield and Smithfield.

Callers reported the fires in late afternoon on Village Road in Smithfield and Barney Cianchette Road in Pittsfield, and early in the evening on High Street in Fairfield.
