READFIELD — Residents overwhelming approved a $2.1 million operating budget for the elementary school shortly before midnight Thursday.

The 80-2 vote came at the conclusion of the annual town meeting.

But that vote must be confirmed at the polls which will be open Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Town Office.

Town officials offered absentee ballot applications at the town meeting.

Voters also will be asked to confirm the earlier approval of the Maranacook Community School District budget.
