The Donald E. Davey Bridge, which connects Wiscasset and Edgecomb, is slated to be repaired next week.
Officials from the Maine Department of Transportation said the Route 1 bridge work will begin May 19 and end on May 23.
Maintenance crews will perform repairs to the concrete bridge ends. Traffic will be restricted to one lane during the project and motorists should expect some delays.
The bridge during peak summer months is one of the most heavily traveled roads in Maine, frequently causing traffic backups to occur in Wiscasset's village.
