AUGUSTA — The Governor’s Wood to Energy Task Force will hold a public hearing from 6 to 8 p.m. May 28 at the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine Conference Center in Augusta, 205 Church Hill Road.
The hearing is focused on the idea of converting wood to energy. The public is invited to speak or submit written statements.
The task force’s mission is to identify, evaluate and promote the use of alternative energy.
Maine is in a particularly vulnerable situation because it has the highest dependence on home heating oil of any state in the country, according to the task force.
