More than 120 local bicyclists are expected to take part Wednesday night in a silent protest against traffic fatalities involving bicyclists.
The third annual Ride of Silence will start at 7 near the Gazebo on Brunswick's town mall. The riders will travel 10 miles to Topsham and then back to Brunswick.
Riders should come equipped with lights and wear black armbands. Anyone may participate.
More than 700 bicyclists a year are killed nationwide. The first ride of silence took place in Texas five years ago after endurance cyclist Larry Schwartz was hit and killed by the mirror on a school bus.
Tom Legare, a member of Brunswick's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee said Randall Vye, a local rider, was killed on Bath Road in May 2001.
