FREEPORT - L.L. Bean has decided to end its relationship with Bank of America, the company that issues the L.L. Bean Visa Card.
After June 30, the current card will no longer be valid for L.L. Bean benefits, such as free shipping, free monogramming and rewards points for company merchandise.
Current credit card holders who want a Bean Visa card will have to apply for a new card. L.L. Bean will begin to notify customers of the program changes over the next few weeks
About 20 percent of L.L. Bean customers have a Bean Visa Card, said L.L. Bean spokesperson Laurie Brooks.
