The Goodrich-Caldwell American Legion Post 6 in Hallowell is sponsoring a Memorial Day parade today that begins at 9:45 a.m. at the post hall on Second Street.

The parade will then go down Temple Street, turn north on Water Street, and head to the Civil War Monument at the south end of the city cemetery for a ceremony.

In Dresden, at 11 a.m., there will be a service at the Pownalborough Court House.

The Rev. Bruce Alexander will lead a program to honor fallen soldiers.
