SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine _ The Maine Association of Realtors says existing home sales fell 23 percent in April from the same month a year ago.
At the same time, the median sales price dropped 11 percent, from $201,000 to $178,200.
Still, sales in April picked up from March. Real estate agents sold 708 homes in April, compared to 650 the previous month.
Nationally, sales of existing homes fell 16 percent in April from a year ago, while the median sales price dropped more than 8 percent, to $200,700.
