U.S. Attorney Paula Silsby says the government has settled a Medicaid billing case with Rumford Group Homes Inc. As part of the settlement, RGH paid $167,463 to address state and federal claims.
Silsby says the case involved the improper submission of certain costs in 2000 and 2001 for reimbursement by the Medicaid program, which is known as MaineCare in the state.
The settlement ends an investigation that was conducted jointly by the U.S. Attorney's office and Maine's Healthcare Crimes Unit, Audit Department and Department of Health and Human Services.
