DEVELOPING: Arrest made in Pittston assault

By Kennebec Journal Staff report May 29, 2008 12:02 PM

The Kennebec County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man in connection with Tuesday's home invasion in Pittston that left William G. Guerrette Jr., 48, and his 10-year-old daughter, Nicole, critically injured.

The sheriff's department arrested Leo Hylton on charges of elevated aggravated assault, Sheriff Randall Liberty said.

Hylton has previously identified himself to police as the brother of Daniel Fortune, 20, of Augusta. Fortune was a suspect in the fall burglary of the Guerrette home, when more than $100,000 in valuables were stolen.

The sheriff's department will host a press conference at 1:30 p.m. at the sheriff's office on State Street in Augusta.
