LEWISTON - Just how fast can one cop eat a half-dozen doughnuts?
We'll find out today when law enforcers from Lewiston and Auburn go head to head in a doughnut-eating contest to benefit the Special Olympics of Maine.
The event happened at 9 a.m. today at the Dunkin Donuts at 319 Maine St.
Auburn officer David "the Human Vacuum" Madore will face off against Lewiston officer Jason "the French Cruller Connection" Nadeau. Both officers will compete for the title of top doughnut cop by eating six glazed doughnuts as fast as they can.
The real purpose, though, is not to clog arteries, but to raise funds and awareness for the Special Olympics of Maine. This event proceeds the Maine Law Enforcement Torch Run, which takes place the first week of June.
The Special Olympics are held in Orono from June 6-8.
