LITCHFIELD — Voters in Litchfield approved a school operating budget of almost $5.3 million Monday night.
The vote was held at a special Town Meeting at Carrie Ricker Middle School.
The budget is $111,000 higher than the current year’s budget for running both Carrie Ricker and Litchfield Elementary School. Residents agreed to raise about $1.1 million through local taxes to support the two schools.
About 400 student attend the two schools.
The vote must be validated in a referendum set for Tuesday at the polls.
