AUGUSTA - State police have identified the driver of a van they believe struck and killed a Berwick woman last week.

Trooper Kevin Strout said the driver was 26-year-old Jason Brooks of Saco. State police interviewed Brooks last Friday. The van belongs to Brooksie and Sons Trucking of Saco, which is owned by Brooks' father, police say.

The van is being examined at the Maine State Police crime lab in Augusta. Charges have not been filed in the case, but police say the York County District Attorney's Office will review the investigative file when it is completed.
