AUGUSTA — The lines of voters are long at Augusta's polling place today as residents turn out for the primaries, but City Clerk Barbara Wardwell said no one has walked away without voting.
Wardwell said the 25 booths set up at City Center haven’t all been full at the same time. If there is a bottleneck, it's at the incoming tables where people register to vote.
“They may be longer because we’ve consolidated the polls to one place, but I don’t see anything unusual. Right now, I’m where I should be with voters, between 500 and 600 people, which is really not a lot.”
