Four administrators with a combined 130 years of experience working in Portland Public Schools are among soon-to-be retirees who will be honored by the Portland School Committee tomorrow.
The celebration will take place at 7 p.m. in Room 250 at Portland Arts and Technology High School.
The retirees include Kathleen Rossi, Lincoln Middle School principal, who started as a teaching intern at Lyman Moore Junior High School in 1968; Phoebe Russell, Lyseth Elementary School assistant principal, who began her career as a speech and language therapist and joined Portland Public Schools in 1973; William Verrill, who has been the district’s food services director for 31 years; and Donna Green, director of Computer Technology Services, who came to the district in 1993.
“Our district has benefited greatly from the work of these four administrators and all of the other retiring staff members,” said interim Superintendent Jeanne Whynot-Vickers. “I wish them well in their future endeavors.”
