Diane Russell was the top vote-getter, excluding absentee ballots, in a two-way race for the Democratic nomination for the House District 120 seat on Tuesday.

Russell, a public relations consultant, received 470 votes (63.2 percent), while Ed Democracy, an independent communications contractor, received 274 (36.8 percent).

The winner will face Republican Peter Doyle and Green Independent Sandy Amborn in November.

The seat, which represents Munjoy Hill and the Old Port, is now held by Democrat Anne Rand, who ran for the Senate District 8 seat.
