Gorham residents supported the school budget by a ratio of more than two-to-one Tuesday.
The vote was 1,351 votes in favor of the proposed $29.4 million budget and 598 against.
The budget was up about 2 percent from the current budget, but no increase in the school portion of the property tax rate is anticipated. The tax rate was estimated to remain steady at $10.46 per $1,000 of assessed valuation.
The Town Council has already approved the $42 million combined municipal, county and school budget, but a new state law requires residents to vote on a school district’s budget.
The total budget, which also is up about 2 percent over the current budget, is not expected to result in any change to the current property tax rate of $16.03 per $1,000 of assessed valuation.
