ELIOT — Incumbent Gary Sinden and Arnold Paul were elected to the Board of Selectmen.
Sinden, Paul and Richard Norek ran for two three-year seats on the board. Sinden received 540 votes, followed by Paul with 498 votes. Norek received 277 votes.
Sinden, who is finishing his first term on the board, said key issues in the upcoming term will be school funding, a town sewer problem and economic development. Sinden said the town needs to make sure the school funding formula between Eliot and South Berwick is equitable.
Paul said he was running to represent the residents of Eliot who live in the town’s sewer district. Paul also said he would provide financial accountability, in order to keep taxes low.
Norek declined to grant an interview prior to the primary.
