State and Auburn Police this morning continue their investigation into a young man's death last night. Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said in a news release.

Police are investigating the death of 26 year old Casey Stanley as a homicide.

An autopsy is underway at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta.

Stanley died along a walking trail near Bonney Park about 7:30 PM.

Investigators are meeting this morning at the Auburn Police Department to review the case and brief each other on information they have gathered overnight.

A number of persons have been interviewed by police.

A news conference is likely around 2 PM to update reporters on the investigation.
