WEST BATH - Henry P. Schmidt, 49, of Brunswick, has been indicted by a Sagadahoc County grand jury on two counts of arson in connection with a March 20 fire that destroyed Dot's Good Deals on Route 1 in Woolwich.

District Attorney Geoffrey Rushlau said the business belonged to Schmidt's mother, Dorothy Schmidt.

Schmidt is being held at the Two Bridges Regional Jail on a probation violation. He will be charged with two counts of arson, according to the indictment handed down this week.

Rushlau said Schmidt recently was incarcerated after he violated terms of his probation for a 1998 arson conviction. He served 14 years in prison for that crime.
