Two members of the Cumberland Town Council were sworn in this week after being re-elected to their seats and the council chose a new chairman and vice-chairman for the coming year.

Councilors Jeffrey Porter and William Stiles, each of whom voters re-elected June 10 to serve another three-term, were sworn in on Monday.

Then, the council chose Councilor George Turner to be chairman for the upcoming year, and selected Councilor Ronald Copp Jr. as vice chairman. The votes for both were unanimous.
