PBS show to tape in Rockland

By Ray Routhier Portland Press Herald Staff Writer June 19, 2008 12:02 PM

The PBS kids' science show "Fetch!" will tape a segment on bicycling in Rockland on July 26.

Three young people from the show will be participating in the Maine Lobster Ride & Roll, a ride that leaves from Rockland High School. The youths on the show regularly face challenges, and in this segment, their challenge will be to find a Maine lobster roll for Ruff Ruffman, the animated dog/host on the show. No air date for the Rockland segment has been announced yet.

The show is produced by WGBH in Boston and seen on PBS stations around the country.

In its seventh year, the Maine Lobster Ride & Roll lets cyclists choose from rides of 16, 30, 50, or 100 miles. For more information on the ride, go to www.BikeMaine.org.
