PHIPPSBURG — Long-time Phippsburg Town Clerk Betty Herron retired this week.

Herron, who is 83, said she held the post for about 32 years, or so she thinks. “The days went by so fast I don’t know exactly,” she said.

She said she retired because it it was time to let someone else have the job. "I had been doing it long enough,” she said.

She has been replaced by Gloria Barnes as the new town clerk.
