College sophomore Conrad Curry, a YouTube celebrity, traveled to Maine this week to show off the Guitar Hero skills that have earned him more than 11.5 million views on the popular video-sharing site.
Curry tonight will attempt to play to near perfection the hardest expert-level song on the recently-released Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. The video will be posted on YouTube as part of a promotional push for a new Portland-based company, which creates vinyl wraps for electric guitars and Guitar Hero controllers.
Axewraps will be promoting its product largely through outlets like YouTube and Facebook in order to reach its target market, said Andrew Earle, public relations manager for Axewraps.
Curry, a sophomore at Dallas Baptist University in Texas, gained fame after posting a video of himself on YouTube playing the hardest song on Guitar Hero3 to near perfection just days after the game's release eight months ago. Curry also plays electric guitar.
