WINSLOW — Billed as the largest 4th of July prade in the state, the holiday parade in Winslow began at 10 a.m. today.
The two-hour parade was scheduled to end at noon near Fort Halifax Park on Bay Street, though the event often takes longer.
Following the parade, a full day of activities was set at Fort Halifax Park. Between 30,000 and 40,000 people were expected to watch the fireworks, beginning at 9:30.
