The Coast Guard bark Eagle will stop in Portland July 31 through Aug. 3 on a cruise that will include the Atlantic coast, Canada, Europe and Bermuda.
Hundreds of Coast Guard Academy cadets train aboard the boat each year. Built in the early 20th century at the end of the sailing era, the boat originally served as the training ship for the German navy before World War II.
The vessel will be in Rockland July 24-27 and in Portsmouth, N.H., from Aug. 7-10.
