Baldwin woman held in crowbar attack

By David Hench Portland Press Herald Staff Writer July 14, 2008 06:02 PM

A Baldwin woman remains in jail following her arrest over the weekend on charges she attacked her boyfriend with a crowbar.

Nichole Bliss, 21, was initially charged by a Cumberland County Sheriff's deputy with aggravated assault when arrested at a family member's home in Limington Friday night, but at her court appearance today the charge was lowered to domestic violence assault.

Police say Bliss hit her live-in boyfriend in the head with a crowbar and that he was taken to Maine Medical Center for stitches to his forehead.

Bliss is being held without bail because she was already free on bail from an earlier charge of domestic criminal threatening against another family member.

She cannot make bail until a court rules on the separate charge of violating conditions of release, police said.
